Learning the basics of music theory couldn’t be easier with this game of matching pairs. It will help your child to recognise basic clefs such as treble clef and bass clef as well as simple dynamic markings such as forte (loud) and piano (soft). (Yes there are more clefs such as tenor and alto clef! Maybe I’ll do an in depth music theory pack one day). Let me know if you would like to see that here too. Check out my free Musical Instruments Word Searches here.

I just love these piano key stickers above with animal figures for the notes. We have very similar monster ones and they have been so helpful in aiding my children’s recognition of notes on the piano. Not only do they show the written notes, they also have small images of the position of each note on the staves too. Fantastic! Have you tried my free Musical Terms Word Searches yet? Get them here!

Why not also try these free printable shapes matching pairs cards too. Bright and colourful, they will encourage your child to learn and recall their shapes. Print for free to play a fun and educational game of shapes matching pairs! Explore my free Shapes Word Searches as well here.
